Good readers practice, practice, practice!
November 16, 2008 | | 2 Comments
The kids in Room 104 have done such a wonderful job of practicing their reading. Each day they meet to read with a guided reading group in the morning to work on their reading skills. Then, later in the afternoon, we read a story all together and work on a comprehension skill. After that they get independent time to read on their own and practice all the skills they have learned. After all this reading, reading, reading, they always want five extra minutes to do some partner reading. And after that…yup, they still want to read. We have had first grade poem experts share some of our poems aloud to the whole class each day. I am so amazed at how excited and confident our readers are growing. It is very thrilling for me to watch!

I love your blog! You are very very creative! Tee
Hi Room 104,
We love the book Koala Lou too. We read it during the Olympics and talked about how only one person can be the best at something but everyone can try their best at everything.Sue thinks your newsletter is great.
